Responsive websites

Responsive Web Design seems to be the new catch cry of the web design industry.

When our customers on the Sunshine Coast talk websites most are asking

  • "Will my new website work on a computer, tv, mobile phone or Ipad?"
  • "Can I update my website myself?"

Now we can say yes to both web design questions.

People are accessing the web from a huge range of computers, mobile phones, tablets including the Ipad and enormous televisions.

On a regular screen we have navigation accross the top of the website, a main column on the left & a smaller column on the right.
There are many different combinations available.

With responsive websites, on a mobile phone, the top area of links, instead of displaying in a long horizontal line, it now displays as a vertical list that may be tapped with your finger or stylus to scroll. An automatic mobile website.

The drop down menu works equally well.

The left column tucks in under the main column.

Responsive websites use cutting edge web design to be easy to read and navigate with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling on any mobile device.

This is an example of a Diesel Equipment website. When a machine breaks down onsite the operator searches with their mobile phone and can see all of DTN's information and contact details.
